Todo,

If you are going to use shadowlands, you might as well use the other strongholds than. Roshungi is not worth it. I would rather use Imperial edicts and Sun in shadows to cancel their action. Also I do not see much focus in making an honor deck with personalities that give you an honor loss. The Wind's truth is not always going to be available and every little bit of honor helps in a honor running deck. You use the wind's truth to take honor away from your opponent as opposed to using it to honor yourself. This is especially if you are going up against other honor running decks.
Roshungi is a META card. You use him to shut down kiho casting decks. It is a useless personality against Toturi Army and Samurai deuling decks.

Now Flee the darkness does absolutely nothing against Crushing attack. Crushing attack does not target a personality. It just ends the battle.
Flee the darkness reads.
Kiho Reaction: Bow a shugenja or monk when another player is targeting one of your Personalities with a battle action, or an open action during battle. The action is canceled and all effects are negated.

I would like to see how your deck operates and what the focus of it is. You promised to submit a deck list if requested. I am requesting it. Please show us your deck. I am rather curious.

Which never bothered me anyway. It's an honor deck,
not an enlightenment one.

You can use him in the other, but not if you care
about your rings. I personally didn't.

That's why you pack x3 Flee the Darkness!

It's quite a gamble too though. If you have the
typical monk 6PS, and the opponent attacks with an
ogre outlaw with some skeletal troops, you're looking
at them still being 1F ahead (if out of the Grounds).
Akuma + a goblin mob and a single falling star will
beat it too. A charging Kamoko with Medium Cav (both
boxable by 2nd turn) will slop right through the water
too.

However, those are exact conditions, and in most
cases, the personalities are too wimpy unless they are
shadowlands to beat it in the early game. Mid and
late game it's a waste though, as they will have
enough force in peeps or terrain destroying ability to
pop it.

What? That doesn't even make sense... Roshungi
doesn't cancel actions... he cancels rings.

Also I

When the personality causes a small honor loss with a
good benefit, it's quite worth it.

Kiho casting decks? Once again, what?

Todo,

Sorry, I did not want to appear on a high horse, I temporarily got Asako Kaushen and roshungi mixed up for a bit. I still do not like Roshungi. I think the false Tao works better. It is free and does about the same thing. No honor loss. No loss of a ring.
Instead of Jade works, have you ever tried Temple to shenseis? Its a great temple for Shioda to bow so you can unbow your stonghold. It can also be used to gain 2 honor in a pinch. It is especially helpful in cases when the Time of the Void Event pops up. I would suggest exchanging your 2 roshungi for an Elightened ruler Event and changing your gold to 2xjade works and 2 temple to shensei and see if that helps you gain honor faster.

I do like the hiruma sensei and how it shuts down deadly grounds effects, although I just don't see any actions you can do in the battle besides the Iajutsu duels because of it. (It still does not stop crushing attack either.) The - 2 starting honor sucks as well and a breach within the first 3 turns can hurt you.
I will admit, I do like the come one at a time, nunchukao combo. The best combo I have ever seen with that, was on Hitomi Kobai. He gains +1/+1 every time he wins a duel and he is not a samurai. Watched him take out a whole army once in front of a Glory Grounds region during a multiplayer game. You might want to consider taking out the Tell the Tales and adding Dharma techniques. Higher focus value and event control.
Might want to take out the poorly placed garden and add another Temple to shensei. Or an Imperial Gift. You do have three items in your deck. Gains you +2 honor and prevents your opponent from using it to get a sword.

Either way. This deck gets smoked by Phoenix enlightenment/ Mo5 deck.

I don't actually own any, or lord knows i'd use them
in a minute.

Really? I thought it stopped any effect of the
opponents that would end the battle?

I use it with Yokuan in a ninja deck, without them
being able to poison weapon, bend like a reed, or
kharmic strike him, he's mean.

Watched

That should have won it right there!

Yeah, I don't know why I didn't put it in there. I've
had it since I drew it out of my first booster back
when Imperial Edition came out.

What doesn't though?

Subject: [Brotherhood] Hidden Fortress Tournament Report

Hi All,

Since quite a few of you helped out with my Sitting in the Temples deck, I
thought you might be interested in how it did.

You can skip straight to the bottom if you just want to see the result the
deck I finally used.

Thanks for the ideas everyone, I used a few of them.
I looked up Sorrow's Path, and it seemed a great idea, but I couldn't get
hold of any in time. I had totally missed Purity of Spirit until someone
pointed it out. It worked great, and seems strictly better than the
alternatives I was using before. I also managed to borrow extra Return for
Training's, and Three stone rivers after advice from the list.

So, to the tournament.
Dissapointingly there were only about 12 players (I was expecting double
that!).

Round 1 Sepulcher of Bone (Simon)
His was a simple skeletal follower attack deck (pretty much my ideal
opponent) and I could just keep defending. I felt like I was maybe toying
with him a bit! By the time I got to 48 honour, I had (just about) managed
to keep all my provinces, so I ended on 5 (Chrsy Fest), while he had 3 (Oni
No Akuma, and HE).
1-0

Round 2 Spawning Grounds (Sam)
This was a really interesting game (but v. frustrating!).
T1 I get a temple, and Hantei Sup Tacts.
T2 I get Hawks & Falcons (no personalities or Prayer Shrines show, mainly
events).
His T2 he gets Doom of the Crane (Back to Square 1!)
T3 Prayer Shrines
His T3 2 Oni no Ogons (1F due to Spawning grounds)
The rest of the game I pretty much skip to end phase as he uses his Oni's
(Open bow to force someone to pay gold equal to Oni's force) to bow out all
my gold before Dynasty phase!!
How frustrating!
I manage to get to 22 hr
(Shiodax3, Imperial Quest, Enlightened Ruler, His most Favoured).
Oh, I got Occult murders (to kill Oni No Ogon one turn after he got the
third one out!!).
1-1

Round 3 Crane (Gary)
I always expect to lose to Gary, a very good player, and a really nice guy!
Especially today with honour decks being my weak point.
Well, we start, and he speeds up on hnr with duels, and holdings, and
people, while I'm pretty slow. I only saw 1 TWT (and I forgot to include
Blessings of Isawa in my deck!). I used it when on his last hnr gain to get
him to 40... he 'enough talk'ed it, getting to 40!!
Next turn (my only hope), I see Kisada's funeral!
Then he has to attack. I defend for a few turns using 5 Entrapping Terrains
(with City of Tears!). He had a huge bunch of peeps, and was ready to attack
next turn and with my hand a bit depleted I was ready for defeat, but
then... Emperor's peace!!
I hit 40 hnr, and with my rings won the game!!
(he was upto about 60 hr!).
2-1

Round 4 Crab (Matt)
Well, this was a bit of a weird deck. Actually it was just a bit unexpected.
It was very similar to my deck, but with more hnr producing holdings (Poorly
placed gardens, Sanct. Temples) and Yoshi Sensei (which slowed me down a
bit).
I led on hr while he built up, then he overtook and sped to victory.
Kisada's funeral was negated by that event that cancels ongoing event
effects.
Blessing with TWT would've helped (but I forgot to include Blessings...
D'oh)
2-2

Round 5 Scorpion Military (Peter)
I didn't have much problem here, as he failed to take a province due to my
cheesy entrapping!

3-2

Just about made the top 4 cut on percentages.

Semi Final: Spawning Grounds Sam again
I was more prepared this time, and got out more gold, getting 28 honour
before he locked my gold!
His Shoju Sensei would've stopped me in any case.
I got to see more of his interesting deck this game though (it was packed
full of PK (Kolat masters, assasins, Geisha assasins, black scrolls...). The
essence of air, forgotten tombs, zero force goblins combo worked really well
too.
Sam went on to win the tourney against Matt (the Crab hnr runner).

3rd/4th Play off Scorpion Military (Andy)
I gained hr fast, he attacked with three smallish peeps, I defended. Ring of
Earth, next turn (about turn 4) Enlightened Ruler, and Occult murders gets
rid of his new Bayushi Baku. He conceeds.

So in the end I came 3rd, after a fun day, and got a cork ornament in glass,
with carved temples, and couple of cranes. It looks pretty cool, and seems
quite apt!
I also got a few dips in the 'box of 'treasures''.

First prize was huge oriental wall fan which looked great.
Oh and Rob Crosbie won the coveted 2 KG can of Tuna !!

Sitting in the Temples 3
HoT+RoW+Hantei Sensei
42:
(Bleesings of Isawa)
D'oh I forgot to stick it in my deck which hurt a bit!!
Enlightened Ruler
Imperial Quest
Emperors Peace
Chrysanthemum Festival
The Hidden Emperor
Kisada's Funeral
Wisdom Gained
Peasant Revolt
Plague
Occult Murders
Clan Heartland
3 Holy Home Village
Akodo's Leadership
Prophets Tower
3 Hawks and Falcons
3 Prayer Shrines
3 Temples to Shinsei
3 Norio
3 Hoshi Wayan
3 Hsi Tsu
3 Shioda
3 Taro
1 Asako Sagoten

45:
Hantei Sensei
RoE
RoW
3 City of Tears
3 Entrapping Terrain
3 Flooded Pass
3 Encircled Terrain
3 Narrow Ground
3 BSL
3 Refugees
3 In Search of the Future
3 three stone river
his most favoured
3 TWT
2 Dharma Technique
3 Battle of Quiet Winds
3 return for training
3 Purity of Spirit

I seemed to have more defence cards than I ever needed. I also need
something to combat honour decks (perhaps more sagoten's).
I also need to know who chooses whether to renounce first with HE.
If an honour deck opponent chooses first, and keeps his province, it might
help if I lose mine so he can never attack me.

Thanks for reading.

Mustafa.
